...Upon opening the box a worried little face peeked out, not quite sure if it was safe. Sensing I meant no harm she inched her way out. Smelling a familiar pleasant aroma in the air, she smiled, and fluttered her way to sit beneath the flowers on my desk...
After a week and a few extra days of downpour in Florida, I still prefer to be there, but I'm back in NYC and arrived to find my package from spiceboy. Knowing it'd be there when I got back made it a bit easier to come home from vacation. But more on that later. Aside from the cheerful Pixiez Sasha above, greater anticipation came from the second item in the box!

I like the little note included...
Don't worry Justin, I think she wants to keep them on. |

I'm not usually a chip person but these hit the spot, ALL the flavors too. Neither baked or fried, hence the name. I ate the whole bag watching an episode of the Flintstones. |

| Move Over Bratz? |
[Mar. 27th, 2009|12:49 am] |
Since the Bratz aisles have been a bit stale lately, I've been giving the boys a bit more play. I've been wanting some new action figures to collect(and position in lewd poses) for a minute now. The "Marvel Legends" line was great, but they were too big. There's no way I'd have room for them AND my Bratz, so when I found these bite size boxes on the shelf, the nerd in me grabbed every character they had and rushed to the checkout.

Fully pose-able, and less than half the size of a Bratz doll, price & height!
I'm so wasted right now, but I've been wanting to post about these for a week now. |

SO F'N GOOD! A much cheaper, but just as moist, light, and fluffy alternative to my usual cinnamon swirl coffee cake at Starbucks. Times is hard, but I still need my snacks! |

Street Fighter 4 owned my evening, and any potential for an actual update for today.
...and yea, the demographic for most video games are straight adolescent males but I can appreciate Capcom for throwing in a few crotch bulges this go round. lol |

| 00BAMA action figure! |
[Jan. 22nd, 2009|10:11 am] |

Fully articulated, with facial expressions, interchangeable hands & heads, katanas, 9mm gun, assault rifle, picnic set(?) and a freakin' lightsaber! How awesomely random! With such spot on detail, is it wrong of me to wonder just how detailed he is, underneath the suit...ok nevermind.
I.MUST.HAVE.THIS.

It was a Sunday afternoon at a Soul Food restaurant up in Harlem. I was just a boy, and we sat around the red checkerboard table having sweet potato pie as my Grandpa spoke of cultural milestones and experiences, good & bad. I just think about how captivated I was listening. I'm proud today, but I can't even begin to know how it must feel for someone who lived through jim crow, the civil rights movement, etc. I really wish my Grandpa was here to see this. My heart smiles knowing that I now have a monumental milestone of my own to tell my children someday. |

| Early Spring Break |
[Jan. 8th, 2009|12:12 am] |
I've kinda gotten used to barren Bratz aisles for the past 3 weeks after all the holiday mess, so when I stumbled upon Spring Break Sasha so soon, I was really taken back for half a sec. Finding Sasha here in the NYC tri-state area is not so difficult, its just random as to whether she'll show up on shelves first, or last.
Overall, I can't complain. I'm happy to see the return of bags this season, and her second bathing suit is perfect for Felicia. I guess my only frustration would be the quality of the hair, but thats Bratz as a whole lately.

| 1st Bratz Hunt of The Year |
[Jan. 6th, 2009|01:11 am] |
My wallet, inhaler, and boyfriend want to let out a big sigh of relief now knowing we can stop running all over town lingering at Walmarts every weekend looking for Bratz, as they will exist for one more year. That bitersweet news still didnt stop me from picking a few things up though.
One of these pictured I'm siked the most about as I didn't think she'd show up this early!
De-boxed pics of you know who next time, Nighty Nite. EDIT: I did also happen to find Kidz Hair Crazy Sasha & the new Cowgirlz Stable. Sasha= kinda cool, but lame cause of the same snap on wardrobe Stable= kinda lame ( "Phone Pics behind the cut" ) |

[Jul. 31st, 2008|09:22 pm] |

Haven't found DB Sasha or Jade yet but I took a minute to debox Closmin, and I think I like Yasmin's gold catsuit a more than Cloe. Of course it's still tacky, but when I think of it in a James Bond/espionage context, I LOVE it. Cloe's outfit reminds me of something Beyonce would show up to the MTV awards in. lol

| FINALLY, NEW BRATZ |
[Jul. 28th, 2008|12:53 pm] |

After seeing everyone with their new doll discoveries over the past month, I began to get a little peeved at my local Target for still having Spring's disappointing display of Bratz still on the shelves. I then headed over to Walmart, where to my most pleasant surprise were new Bratz peeking out from the bottom. I had been hoping for Designed by Sasha but finding Nighty-Nite Sasha wasn't so bad either!
I spotted all the Wintertime and Costume Party girls at K-Mart as well but decided to wait, cause I'm not paying $22 & $16 for dolls that'll be $15 & $10 everywhere else. And yes, I took pics. lol I'll post those once I get 'em off the cam phone.

THIS JUST IN!!! For all of you that want extra articulated bodies for your Bratz, NOW is the time to get 'em. In addition to the Movie two-packs at Target on clearance, the original Movie dolls are on sale at KB now through Sunday! It's probably a good idea to buy the Target two-packs at $7 & change and stock up on Sasha's from KB. That's what I'll be doing! Happy 4th Betches! |

| New Babyz @ Target |
[Jul. 2nd, 2008|09:49 pm] |

Last night on one my excursions to the Red Dot Boutique I picked up a few items, but I couldn't leave without checking out the Bratz aisle. Nothing really to look at but a bunch of clearanced Closmins from this past Spring, but I DID manage to find one of each of the new Babyz, minus Sasha of course. I can appreciate the creative reinvention, but I've never really been into the Babyz. I like Jade, but I think I'll probably pass on all of them, since there's so many regular Bratz I want. I'm hoping I'll find some new girls this weekend since over at Dolly Cafeteria theReally Rock Collection was found at Toys R Us

| WALL-E |
[Jul. 1st, 2008|11:01 pm] |

This past weekend was Pride weekend here in NYC, and while I did celebrate on Sat(more on that later) I stayed in for the parade on Sunday and instead did some Bratz hunting with DJ. I also happened to catch "WALL-E"
I was leaning more towards seeing WANTED with Angelina(surprising since I'm a big fan of all things animated) but I left the theatre with an overwhelming feeling of heart-warmth. Theres really no other words to describe it. lol For some, it may even make you tear up a bit, but not in a sappy way. It's just that WALL-E is just so damn adorable, especially in his 1st few interactions with the character EVE.
I think a big part of its gripping appeal is that the lack of superfluous dialog allows us to become even more emotionally attached to the characters. I really wasn't sure what to expect going in, but I was intrigued by how different it felt from any other "Disney" film. Nothing pink, fluffy, or traditionally cute so to speak. The opening sequence felt more like a scene from "The Day After Tomorrow" as a matter of fact.
Wall-E also seems to hop onto the environmental awareness trend thats pretty big now, lets see how long THAT lasts. I liked Wall-E not only for its cuteness but for its humorous social commentary. It kinda gave me a feeling of urgency, at least for the duration of the film. With that said, I wonder if the packaging for all the WALL-E toys are biodegradable? Either way, go see it. It's worth it. |
